ONTARIO MAN CALLED HIS PARTNER WITH AN EMERGENCY AFTER WINNING $1 MILLION ON LOTTO 649

A man from Highland Grove in Ontario, Canada, called his partner with what she thought was a medical emergency when he found out he’d won $1 million on the Canadian Lotto 649.Kevin Blair was in Toronto getting medical treatment last week when he called his partner, Cheryl Ellis, and asked her to come into the city. Understandably, Ms Ellis thought that there was a medical emergency to do with her partner’s treatment, and she drove to Toronto as soon as she could. Earlier this year a man from London in Ontario won $9 million on the Lotto 649, while another local winner was Antonio Basile from the York region of Ontario who took home a $100,000 Lotto 649 prize.“I got my friend and we went down to Toronto on the Monday for the emergency and the emergency was he needed me to go to the OLG headquarters with him to cash the ticket,” Ms Ellis said of the way she found out they were Lotto 649 winners. A Powerball winner from Washington State said that her daughter asked if it was an emergency when she shouted to her family about her win.Even when she got there, Ms Ellis couldn’t believe her partner when he told her they’d won $1 Million on the Lotto 649. A syndicate of co-workers from Ontario couldn’t believe their luck when they shared a $172,000 prize on the Lotto Max earlier this year.“Of course, I didn’t believe it, right? How can you believe you’ve just won $1 million? It was just utter disbelief,” the Lotto 649 winner said, continuing to say that she didn’t really believe her partner until OLG officials confirmed their win. The couple are regular lottery players and said that they always buy their tickets from South Algonquin Country Store in Harcourt, where the winning Lotto 649 ticket was purchased.Mr Blair is already retired as a GM worker, and Ms Ellis worked with the Haliburton County road department until she retired on the same day that they claimed their lottery prize. The couple plan to use their $1 million Lotto 649 winnings to make improvements on their home, and Ms Ellis hopes to run for local council. Another Canadian Lotto 649 winner headed straight for retirement after a $1.6 million windfall. The pair are still playing the lottery, “I bought a ticket this morning,” said Ms Ellis. If you think you could follow this couple's footsteps in becoming a lottery winner, why not give it a go with us at Lottery24.com.
