A nurse from Manila in the Philippines has come forward to claim the second half of a P1.18 billion Ultra Lotto 6/58 jackpot prize.

The P1.18 billion is equal to around $22 million US dollars, and the 33-year-old won half of that after buying his winnings Ultra Lotto 6/58 ticket from a store in his local mall. Just last week we told you about a Maryland man who used the winning Ultra Lotto 6/58 numbers to help him in his winning Bonus Match 5 selection. The winner brought two relatives with him to the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office on Tuesday to claim his prize despite being nervous about the attention surrounding his win.

Recently we reported that a woman from the Philippines had bought a ticket for the wrong lottery and just missed out on a $16.6 million Ultra Lotto 6/58 jackpot. The largest jackpot in PCSO history was split between two winners in the drawing on October 14th, and the lucky winner told lottery officials that he took a week to come forward and claim his big Ultra Lotto prize because he couldn’t find time in his schedule. A Mega Millions winner from California took almost a month to claim his $191 million Mega Millions prize.

When he did attend headquarters to make his claim, officials said that they had to help calm his nerves and remind him to smile as he collected his winnings. The leader of an Irish Lotto syndicate which won €4.3 million said that he couldn’t control his nerves leading up to claiming the prize for fear of losing the ticket.

The lucky winner is married and has been supporting his parents, so his Ultra Lotto 6/58 jackpot win will certainly help him out. The winner isn’t the only nurse to have won the lottery, recently we reported on a Manhattan nursing student who took home $1 million on the Mega Millions. He also plans to invest in his personal security following advice from lottery officials, and to consult a financial advisor before spending too much of his fortune, but he didn’t reveal any specific plans for his P470 million jackpot.

The winning ticket was purchased from a store at a local mall in Legazpi City, and the winner of the other half of the jackpot, a ticket holder from Borongan, Samar, claimed their Ultra Lotto 6/58 winnings last week just days after the drawing took place.
