Four local lottery winners have gone back to the store where they purchased their winning ticket. They had the honour of unveiling a new, gold playstation for the store one year after their life-changing win.
Four of the six lucky Catering Girls from Port Talbot, Wales attended the One Stop shop in Sandfields, Port Talbot. The new, gold playstation is to celebrate the store having sold them their winning EuroMillions ticket.
Julie Amphlett, Sian Jones, Louise Ward and Doreen Thompson, as well as two other colleagues, were dubbed the ‘Catering Girls’ when they won a £25.4 million EuroMillions jackpot in November 2017.
The six colleagues all quit their jobs in catering after taking home £4.2 million each. The local lottery winners have since splashed out on luxurious holidays, new homes, fancy appliances and deluxe furnishings. However, they took some time out from their new lifestyles this week to head back to the One Stop shop where their story began.
The local lottery winners delivered the limited-edition gold playstation which will hopefully spread their good fortune to other Port Talbot lottery players. “It’s been an unbelievable year and we have been able to make so many of our dreams come true,” said Ms Amphlett. “One Stop was lucky for us before and hopefully with this new gold playstation it will be lucky again for someone else!”
The store manager said that they are proud to have created millionaires in their store and are hoping to create even more in the years to come.
