Shock as Brother and Sister Inherit Lottery Win
A brother and sister have discovered they will inherit a lottery win worth £140,000 from a granddad they never met.
Nick and Katherine Christou from England both received a £70,000 windfall from estranged grandfather Jim Ross.
Jim Ross lost contact with his family in the 1980s and his daughter never spoke about him to her children.
Sadly, she died three years ago, but eight months ago Nick and Katherine’s grandmother received a letter. It told her that Mr Ross had passed away and had left an inheritance of around £5,000 to his next of kin.
Where is the inheritance letter?
Initially, Nick thought the letter was a scam but two months later he decided to pursue the matter. However, his grandmother had lost the all-important letter. He did remember the letter had come from Finders International and was able to make contact with them.
The first of his grandfather’s accounts only contained 58p but the next had £4,500. That was the sum mentioned in the original letter, but a shock was on its way.
Discover the truth about their lottery win
A third account was discovered and this one was worth £140,000. It turned out that Mr Ross had been part of a winning lottery syndicate.
Nick couldn’t believe his luck as he and his sister learned they both now inherit a lottery win.
Mr Christou told the Eastern Daily Press:“I felt a bit numb at first, to be honest. I let it sink in and I thought this could change our lives as a family,”
With his part of the inheritance, Nick took took his wife to Las Vegas for a belated Honeymoon. He’s also cleared some of his debt, purchased a car, a bike and put the rest in the bank.
Danny Curran, founder of Finders International said: “Nick Christou’s story proves the importance of trying to at least know members of your family, even if fallouts have occurred.”
