EUROMILLIONS WINNER HAD TO BORROW £10 TO TOAST HIS WIN AFTER BANK FROZE ACCOUNT

A EuroMillions winner who banked over £300,000 as part of a syndicate group had to toast his success with a borrowed £10 after his bank account was frozen due to unusual activity. It certainly could be classed as unusual for a lump sum of £333,167.40 to be paid into your account, but for Nigel Himsworth it was his reward for being a part of a lottery winning syndicate. Unfortunately, his bank did not know the story behind his payment, as they classed the deposit as a suspicious transaction.Mr Himsworth, 41, said that after the EuroMillions money was paid into his account all he wanted to do was treat his friends and family to some drinks to celebrate, but instead he had to borrow some money to do just that. “The money got paid into my account for me to divvy up the cash with the guys,” said Mr Himsworth, continuing to tell the local press that it took 24 hours for the account to be freed up again.Mr Himsworth borrowed money from friends in order to go to the pub to celebrate the win with his fellow lottery syndicate members. The group of six friends work just outside Glasgow but all originally come from Barnsley, and each of them will take a £55,527.90 share of the lottery win.One of the syndicate members, Darren Fisher, 42, said “It’s not a life changing amount but it will help us to treat ourselves.” And treat themselves they have done, with the youngest member of the lottery group, Adam Booth, 20, having already bought himself a top of the range Audi A3 car, despite the fact that he is yet to get his driver’s license.Mr Booth said that now he has the car he will have more of an incentive to pass his test. “It’s a beauty,” said the lottery winner, “I now just need to get a pass in my test. I haven’t even checked how much the insurance will be.” The EuroMillions winners will continue working together in Scotland. This Friday 17th October the estimated jackpot is a whopping £128m!
