James Evans from Romney Marsh in Kent, England only purchased a National Lottery £250M Cash Spectacular scratchcard because there was a parking space outside his local Spar. It managed to win him a £3m prize.

The 30-year old is a self-employed gardener. He’s the latest self-employed winner after Welshman William Richards won a £1m UK Lotto prize. James had been chatting to a friend about a local winner and decided a big win would pay for a new digger and trailer. He decided to buy a scratchcard if there was a parking space free outside the Spar. There was and it led to his £3m National Lottery £250M Cash Spectacular scratchcard win.

He didn’t initially believe he’d won so much money and though that perhaps his mind “was playing tricks again.” A second-look confirmed that his National Lottery £250M Cash Spectacular scratchcard had made him a millionaire. He quickly called his girlfriend JoJo Smith, 28, but the baker told him to stop joking and carried on with her work.

The delighted National Lottery £250M Cash Spectacular scratchcard winner had all weekend before he could go to have a meeting with a Winners’ Advisor, so spent the weekend doing everything he could to try and take his mind off his big win, even mowing his next door neighbour’s lawn.

The couple now plan to move to Cornwall and want to move into a little farmhouse. Canadian Terry Sigurdson decided to build his own home after a £500,000 Lotto 6/49 win. A new home was also on the shopping list of Englishman Jacob Hodge after his £1m National Lottery scratchcard win.

Despite being a millionaire, he still wants to keep working. He plans to establish a maintenance business, while JoJo wants to open her own bakery. Other spending plans include buying that digger and trailer and a Mercedes for himself and his partner, especially after JoJo’s 16-year old car just broke down.
He also wants to buy his mum a bungalow on the banks of the Tamar River, holidays in France and Thailand and hiring a villa in Ibiza. A group of residents from Ferndown in Dorset, England, planned holidays after their recent People’s Postcode Lottery success.

James also dreams of going to the World Cup Final if England makes it so that may or may not happen. Portsmouth FC fan Jason Jagodzinsk recently won a £1m EuroMillions prize and will be in the posh seats next season.
