A woman from Saskatchewan in the prairies of Canada said that all she saw were a lot of zeroes when she found out she’d won on the Lotto 649.

Sandra Lee Frank, from North Battleford, said that she initially struggled to get her head around her $1 million Lotto 649 win when she checked her ticket online. Ms Frank purchased her Lotto 649 ticket for the drawing on July 28th from a No Frills gas bar in her home town and put it away into her purse without a second thought. Just last week a man from Saskatchewan had to wake up his wife to let her know they’d won $1 million on the Lotto Max, while another local Lotto 649 winner planned a trip to Las Vegas following her $1 million windfall.

Later that week, Ms Frank stopped off at her mother’shouse for a visit and realised the ticket was still in her bag, so she checked the winning numbers for the Lotto 649 drawing online. When she saw that her ticket had won a prize, she initially didn’t realise quite how much she’d won. A Québec Lotto Max winner said that it took a while to notice all of the zeroes on their $10 million jackpot win.

“It’s surreal. You always hope for it, but you never think in a million years it will ever happen to you,” the lucky Lotto 649 winner told Saskatchewan Lottery officials as she claimed her prize earlier this week. She is the eighth winner of $1 million or more in Saskatchewan so far this year, and three other recent million-dollar prizes from recent months have yet to be claimed. A recent Lotto Max winner from Ontario said that she was still in shock a month after winning $175,000.

Ms Frank told Lotto 649 winners that she plans to share her $1 million prize with members of her immediately family, and together with her husband she hopes to be able to retire earlier than expected. “There’s a lot of possibilities,” the lucky winner said at a lottery news conference. “Very many possibilities.” A recent Oz Lotto winner from New South Wales in Australia said that he planned to fast track his retirement after winning $35 million.
