This weekend the EuroMillions lottery is offering a jackpot worth £150 million, and if one single ticket holder takes home the entire top prize they will be as rich as musician Eric Clapton.

The jackpot has been rolling over now for several weeks, ever since the lottery offered a special Super Draw on Friday, October 3rd. This weekend the jackpot is worth an estimated £150 million, which is approximately €190 million.

The EuroMillions jackpot has a cap of €190 million, meaning that if no player in any of the member countries matches all of the drawn numbers and lucky stars tonight, then the jackpot will be split equally between those ticket holders who have won on the next prize-winning tier. The last time the jackpot was worth €190 million, it was won by a couple from the UK, who became the UK’s biggest lottery jackpot winners, and retained that title for a year.

Adrian and Gillian Bayford won £148,656,000 on August 10th 2012, which at the time was worth €190 million. Following that, when the exchange rate changed, another couple became the UK’s biggest lottery winners, winning over £161 million, which was equivalent to €185 million. Colin and Chris Weir won their fortune on June 23rd, 2013.

No matter what happens this weekend, however, whether the jackpot is won or not, EuroMillions have announced some more exciting changes to the lottery game which will come into effect next weekend. On the last Friday on every month, beginning with October 31st 2014, there will be a Mega Friday’s celebration, which will offer new luxury prizes as well as the jackpot prize.

Next Friday, players will have the chance to win one of 25 guaranteed £1 million prizes, as well as a private getaway for themselves and seven friends or family members to Makepeace Island off Australia’s Gold Coast. A Lottery spokesman said “we’ll be giving each (of the 25 £1 million winners) a head start on the millionaire lifestyle with a once in a life time getaway to their private island.”
