NORTH CAROLINA MAN’S LUCK TURNS AROUND AS HE WINS $150,000 ON POWERBALL

A man from North Carolina in the USA has seen his luck turn around completely as he won $150,000 on the Powerball lottery.Dennis Goodman decided that he was so unlucky in the lottery that he told his sister to buy her own ticket for the Powerball drawing last weekend because he thought she wouldn’t want his bad luck touching it. But then the Landis, North Carolina man’s luck changed when he checked his ticket after Saturday night’s drawing and saw that he’d won $150,000. He’s now one of the luckiest North Carolinians, including Timothy Kniess who won $100,000 on the Education Lottery and then survived a helicopter crash!“I won $150,000” Mr Goodman shouted to his sister when he checked his ticket late last Saturday evening. “She didn’t believe me. I had to show her the ticket,” he said. “It was a real exciting time. I didn’t expect to even get my money back.” Luck also changed for a Newfoundland lottery player whose week began with a life-threatening car accident and ended with a share in a $60 million Lotto Max jackpot. The lucky Powerball player’s ticket was one of three in North Carolina which matched four of the white balls in last Saturday’s drawing, beating offs of 1 in 913,129 to win his $150,000 prize. Mr Goodman purchased his ticket from Love’s Travel Stop on Peeler Road in Salisbury, North Carolina, and he’ll receive just over $105,000 after taxes are withdrawn. A group of friends from Ottawa in Canada ignored the warning of bad luck on Friday 13th to win $60 million on the Lotto Max earlier this year.Once the Powerball winnings are in the bank, Mr Goodman said that he plans to use his winnings to pay off some outstanding bills, get some dental work done and fix up some of his old cars. The lottery winner owns a 1994 Chevy S-10 which has won over 230,000 miles on it. A truck driver from Maryland who won $20,000 on a scratch card was planning to fix his girlfriend’s car with his winnings. The Powerball prize will also go towards allowing Mr Goodman to have some fun, and he said he’ll take a week off work and go to the beach for a spot of pier fishing, just like a Canadian Lotto Max winner who planned to spend more time on his hobbies, including fishing, after winning $1 million. The Powerball jackpot was won last Saturday by ticket holders in New York and Iowa. You too could be the next big winner, so make sure to get your tickets online  today at Lottery24.com!
