Record-breaking £167m EuroMillions jackpot is up for grabs
This Friday’s EuroMillions jackpot could make you the biggest ever lottery winner in the UK. The jackpot on Friday is worth an estimated £167m.
Your chance to break a UK lottery record
The current EuroMillions jackpot record-holders are Colin and Chris Weir from North Ayrshire in Scotland. They took home a huge £161 million back in 2011.
They went straight onto the Sunday Times rich list above famous names such as Ringo Starr and Tom Jones.
Just a year later, Adrian and Gillian Bayford came close to breaking that record when they won £148 million. Now, there’s a real chance at being the biggest ever winner.
EuroMillions jackpot would change your life
Lottery officials are urging players to get their tickets early so that they don’t miss out on the top prize. The £167 million up for grabs could be seriously life-changing.
Despite the £167 million jackpot being amongst the highest in the UK, it doesn’t come anywhere near Europe’s largest lottery top prize.
Last month, an Italian became Europe’s biggest ever lottery winner.
The unnamed player, from the city of Lodi, near Milan, scooped a huge £193 million on the Superenalotto draw. The Italian game had been rolling over for over a year before the mystery winner stopped it in its tracks.
The biggest lottery jackpots in the world have all been in the USA. The largest single winner took home over £1.2 billion in 2018 from playing Mega Millions.
That winner was from South Carolina, and they eventually claimed their prize anonymously in March 2019.
The largest jackpot ever was just over £1.3 billion on the Powerball, which was won by three separate tickets in 2016.
